Track Lettering Policy
Below are the different ways athletes can letter in track: 1) Compete at the state/sectional meet 2) Score individual points at the regional meet 3) Score individual points at the conference meet 4) Score individual points at the divisional meet 5) Score individual points at an invite 6) Score 20 or more individual points at dual meets 7) Earn at least four points competing on a relay team at an invite, divisional, conference or sectional meets a. Points earned by team will be divided by four 8) Coach’s discretion Points scored at freshmen/sophomore or JV meets will not count towards lettering. |
Track Awards:
Captains - Coaches select based on leadership qualities and dedication to the program. (Seniors Only) Bruce Fischer - A combination of GPA and Track success. Coaches will look at the GPA of the student and value added on the track in meets and at practice (Seniors Only) Most Valuable Player - Awarded based on a Team Vote, Points Scored and Coaches Discussion Marilyn Medchill Community Award - Awarded to a track athlete who works hard every day and builds our team community. (Senior Only) Most Improved Player - A student athlete who works toward improvement all season and has results on, or off the track. Spirit Award - Coaches and Athletes will award this to a student who exhibits the most spirit for our team. |
End of Season Potluck
As the season winds down, join us for the end of season potluck on June 5th, at 6:00PM at the MHS Commons. Please help us celebrate the conclusion of a successful season. Bring a dish to pass, your own dishes/utensils and something to drink. Go Spartans!
